Studi Identifikasi Profil Pendidikan Tradisional Kesenian: Upaya Inventarisasi Institusi Transmisi Nilai Budaya di Surakarta

The aim of this research is to know (1) history and background of traditional educational of show art (puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit, and nyindhen) as nyantrik institution to informal learning at Surakarta; (2) material scope which transmitted from educator (empu) to learner (cantrik) at nyantrik show art institution (puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit, and nyinden); (3) traditional educational of show art process (puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit, and nyindhen) at local informal institution; (4) method which educator (empu) applied at learning process of traditional educational of show art (puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit, and nyindhen); (5) learning pattern which educator (empu) applied at learning process of traditional educational of show art (puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit, and nyindhen).
This is descriptively qualitatively research that conducted at Surakarta with purposive sampling. Data source are informant, place/event and analysis. Collection data by interview, observation and document, validity test through triangulation and informant review. Technique of analysis is interaction model. Research result shows (1) history background of nyantrik institution is to preserve tradition such as puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhen. (2) Material learning included cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspect. Cognitive aspect included knowledge of puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhen. Affective aspect included preserve tradition of puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhe, live philosophy about moderation, strength in idea, please for peace to God. Psychomotor aspect included skill of puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhen. (3) Empu applies open learning process for cantrik. Learning process divided into three steps; there are start, middle, and end. For start step, cantrik get introduction material about knowledge of puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhen. For middle step, they study simple application about puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhen. For end step, they have to practice puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhen. (4) Learning model at puppet wong, ndalang, ngrawit and nyindhen are lecture, demonstration and assignation, punishment and reward. (5) There is open learning pattern-integration between authority and permissive pattern. Authority learning pattern was seen when empu teach obeying attitude to learn introduction material. Permissive learning pattern was seen when cantrik explore independently after master base skill.
