In general this research aim is to formulate the learning model of content local based on the Cultural Art of Surakarta classic batik At Junior High School As an Effort of Continuation of Cultural Heritage and Grow the soul of entrepreneurships The short-range target will be reached is the compilation of syllabus and substance of batik’s local content.
To reach the target this research is planned during two phase. This research represents the research qualitative. Data were collected using several techniques including in-depth interview, focus group discussion, document study, and site observation. Data were analyzed using interactive model of analysis.
The early research results indicate that: (1) there is no equality perception yet among schools in Surakarta about the learning implementation of local content of batik yet. There are some school which place it as cultural subject social , but also there are some school which placed it as extracurricular activity.(2)The understanding of cultural artistic teachers about batik art is quite good. This condition showed with the answer which is passed by interview, for example: they can explain the batik history, various batik motif, creation source, manual and arrangement and also philosophic meaning of various classic batik motifs. All teachers theoretically mastered the making and the coloring process of batik. (3) Lack of teachers ability in compiling the learning strategy and the implementation of teaching learning process of local content of batik. This problem is caused because of there is no existence of guide-book and also there is no syllabus of the learning implementation of local content of batik.
The Result of the second phase formulated by a strategy for the Development model of content local based on the Cultural Art of Surakarta classic batik At Junior High School as an Effort of Continuation of Cultural Heritage and grows the soul of entrepreneurship and composed the syllabus of local content of batik. This Model emphasizes on the importance for the improvement of human resource namely the teacher in planning the learning strategy and also the implementation teaching learning batik art. The Implementation of the Model needs a commitment and cooperation of education stakeholders.
