Synthesis of Mg / Al hydrotalcite-like (HTlc) from brine water and replica brine brine has been carried out. HTLc from brine water (HTLcBWA) and HTLc from brine water (HTLcBWT) were grinded by KF with a ratio of 8/10. Materials obtained were characterized by XRD and FT-IR. Material KF / HTLc used for catalytic transesterification of palm oil into biodiesel. Transesterification reaction carried out at 65 °C, mole ratio of oil and methanol made 1 / 12 with a weight variation of catalyst 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5% w / w oil and time variation of 5, 15, 30, and 180 minutes as well. Catalyst activity was monitored by HNMR. Optimum reaction was achieved at 180 minutes in weight the catalyst KF / HTLcBWA and KF / HTLcBWT 1% b/b.
